ACCU España : We have a young people national meeting and young people activities all over the country, so there’s always a chance to speak to someone who has experience on different situations and have emotional support. Many of the local organisations have general services as psychologist, social worker, nutritionist and so on. Some of them have specific groups for patient’s families.
Finland : arranged youth camps for teenagers together with other Finnish patient associations (the camps offer information about transitioning to adult care)
– A part of our ongoing Support for families -project we are planning a guide for young people (probably as a audio guide / podcast) and it would also cover the topic of transitioning to adult care
Germany : The DCCV has a variety of offers for young club members. From families with small children to young adults, the entire age group is covered with appropriate offers. On the one hand, this is particularly important because the new patients are getting younger and younger. In addition, the youngsters; as the new generation of the associations are to be particularly promoted.
DCCV offers for children, young people and parents at a glance:
– Free time for 11 to 15 year olds
– Meeting for young people aged 16 and over (Youngster working group)
– Meeting for students (working group StudiCED)
– Family seminars, seminars for parents (DCCV’s working group Child Parent Initiative) for the exchange of experience between children, parents and experts.
-Individual, group chats and mail advice for children and young people
– Provision of medical and other information for young CED patients, including brochures and on the Internet (www. ced-kids.de, www.dccv.de).
– Working for the special needs of young CED patients
France : Paris hospital Robert-Debré provides a patient platform called AD’Venir
